Cyprus Microbrewers give their fight today in the parliament. It is a matter of life or death for the Cyprus Micro-Brewing industry. In addition of the Financial crisis and lack of funds, government’s taxation and fees  come to choke the effort of few beer enthusiast to offer the alternative option of small quantity quality beer to the Cyprus public.

Their main demands are:

  1. Reduction of the Microbrewery operation licence fee from 2500 Euros to 800
  2. 50% reduction of the special consumption tax (for production less than 1 million liters per year)
  3. Reduction of VAT to 9% (for production less than 1 million liters per year)
